Our Beliefs

In accordance with historical Baptist traditions, Amazing Love Community Church is independent and autonomous. We do, however, cooperate and seek mutual counsel with the Missouri Baptist Convention and the St. Louis Metro Baptist Association.

.

A brief expression of our beliefs includes:

> The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the rule and guide to our faith and practice.
> Our church is part of the Body of Christ on earth and we acknowledge Jesus Christ as head of the     Church.
> We rely on Christ’s atoning sacrifice for justification and on Salvation that comes from Jesus     Christ alone. We depend on the Holy Spirit for sanctification.
> We believe in the virgin birth of Christ, that He died for our sins, and that He was resurrected.
> We believe in the Priesthood of each believer and of all believers.
> We are committed to reaching a lost and hurting world and to cooperating with ministry partners.
> We believe in the sanctity of human life.
> We affirm the doctrinal statements set forth in “The Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the     Southern Baptist Convention in 1963.

Our Vision

To mobilize the people of Amazing Love Community Church by connecting them to ministry opportunities here and beyond here in order to be a transformational presence through the sharing of the gospel, the discipling of believers, and the establishing of reproducing churches to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Our Purpose

The church's purpose is to exalt Jesus Christ through worship by:

> Evangelizing the lost
> Equipping the saints for service
> Engaging the servants in ministry

Our Message

1 Corinthians 15:3-8: "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born."

Our Hope

Life's most important decision is what we choose to do with Jesus. As God's Son, He paid the ultimate price by dying on the cross, in our place, for our sins. Our hope is that you will ask God to forgive you of your sins and that you'll pray and invite Jesus into your heart to be your Savior and Lord.

Here's how.

GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE

Understand that Jesus wants to give you eternal life today.

These are the biblical facts you need to know that make possible your personal relationship with God:

God loves you.
He created you and wants to have a personal relationship with you now on earth and eternally in heaven.

> John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

> Ephesians 2:4-5: "But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved."

Sin has separated you from God.
The Bible defines "sin" as choosing our will over God's. We have each made this mistake (Romans 3:23). Our sins have now separated us from our holy God, and He cannot allow us into His perfect heaven. Instead, we are each destined for an eternity separated from God in hell (Revelation 19:11-15).

> Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

> Revelation 19:11-15: "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He Himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty."

You cannot repair your broken relationship with God on your own.
Many people think we can be good or religious enough to earn God's forgiveness and go to heaven when we die. But the Bible teaches that the only payment for our sins is death. Someone must die for the sins we have committed.

> Romans 6:23: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

> Ezekiel 18:20: "The one who sins is the one who will die. The child will not share the guilt of the parent, nor will the parent share the guilt of the child. The righteousness of the righteous will be credited to them, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against them."

Jesus died on the cross to pay the debt owed for our sins.
Since Jesus was sinless and owed no debt to God, his death could pay for our sins. He took our place on the cross and suffered the penalty we deserved. His death now makes it possible for a righteous God to forgive our sins and offer us salvation.

> Romans 5:8: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

> 2 Corinthians 5:21: "God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."

> 1 Peter 2:24: '"He himself bore our sins" in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; "by His wounds you have been healed."'

You must receive the gift he died to give you.
You must choose to trust in what Jesus has done for you rather than trusting in your own efforts to restore your relationship with God. In faith, rely completely on Jesus to make you right with God. Repent of your sins and mistakes and choose to live by God's Word and will. Decide that you will make Jesus the Lord and Master of your life.

How can you make this decision?
Through prayer you can meet Jesus today. There is no single prayer you must pray to become a Christian, no magic formula. But the following words are one way to express to God your decision to trust Jesus as Lord. If you will sincerely pray a prayer of commitment to God similar to this one, then you will meet Jesus personally and live for Him as your Lord.

Dear God,

Thank you for loving me. Thank you that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins, mistakes, and failures. I admit to you that I am a sinner, that I need you to save me. I choose to repent and to turn from my sins. I invite Jesus into my life as my Savior and Lord. I turn my life over to him right now. I will live for him as long as I live. Thank you for giving me eternal life and making me the child of God. In Jesus' name, Amen.

If you prayed this prayer for the first time just now, please tell someone about your decision. Christianity cannot be lived alone. Share your new faith with someone you trust, and with a church where you can grow in your commitment to Christ. If we can support you on your faith journey, please call us at 314.681.8030 or email us so that we can rejoice with you in your decision to trust Jesus. We want to help you follow Him today.
